Foster City-based Adchemy, a developer of search engine marketing (SEM) tools for placing online ads, said Wednesday that it raised $61M in a Series E funding round. The round came form Microsoft, August Capital, and Mayfield Fund. AdChemy said the investment comes in concert with a deal with Microsoft Advertising, to provide the firm's technology to select adCenter customers. Adchemy's technology help advertiser manage their search engine advertising and marketing, increasing the number of keywords managed by companies by "several orders of magnitude".
