San Francisco-based Anthera Pharmaceuticals has raised $36M, the firm announced today. The funding round was led by VantagePoint Venture Partners and Sofinnova Ventures, and also included Pappas Ventures, Mitsubishi International Corporation, Sears Capital Management and SIM Equity. Eli Lilly and Company and Shionogi & Co., Ltd. also received equity as part of the funding. Anthera is developing therapies for treatment of serious inflammatory diseases.
