    Apptera Gains $10.5M


    San Bruno-based Apptera, a provider of voice advertising services for the mobile market, said today that it has raised $10.5M in funding. The round came from its existing investors, which include Lightspeed Venture Partners, Alloy Ventures, and Walden International. Along with the funding, Apptera said that former Yahoo! executive David Karnstedt has joined its board of directors. Karnstedt was also previously at Overture. Apptera is developing voice-powered, mobile advertising services, which presents voice advertisements, SMS messages, and MMS coupons to mobile subscribers.
