Archives.com Acquired By Ancestry.com For $100M




Palo Alto-based Archives.com, a venture backed developer of family history services and software, has been acquired by genealogy giant Ancestry.com, in a deal worth $100M in cash plus assumed liabilities. Archives.com, which is run by Inflection LLC, provides access to historical records and information for the family history market. The firm was venture backed by Matrix Partners and Sutter Hill Ventures, and had raised $30M back in 2010 for its efforts. Inflection was headed by Matthew Monahan.
