Basis Snags $11.5M For Smart, Health Monitoring Wristwatch

Can a wristwatch be the key to unlocking a healthier lifestyle? San Francisco-based BASIS Science thinks so, and just raised $11.5M in a Series B funding to move towards its goal of helping people to adopt health habits. The firm said the new funding round was led by Mayfield Fund, and also included existing investors DCM and Norwest Venture partners. Basis also said it has added Deepak Chopra and Esther Dyson as advisors to the company, in addition to adding Mayfield's Tim Chang as a board member. More information »
