    Benchmark Taps Google For EIRs


    Menlo Park-based Benchmark Capital said today that it has added Bret Taylor and Jim Norris, both recently from Google, as Entrepreneurs in Residence. Taylor was a group product manager at Google, and Norris was technical lead on the firm's Google Maps team. Benchmark said that Taylor and Norris were instrumental in the design, development and launch of Google Maps and the Google Maps API. Benchmark said that Taylor and Norris will evaluate business opportunities in the consumer Internet market, and assist Benchmark's portfolio firms.
