Oakland-based BrightSource Energy has filed for an IPO, saying in a filing Friday that it is looking to raised up to $250M in a public offering. The firm's IPO is being underwritten by Goldman, Sachs & Co., Citi, and Deutsche Bank Securities. The firm is venture backed by such companies as VantagePoint Capital Partners, ALSTOM Power, Morgan Stanley, and Draper Fisher Jurvetson. BrightSource said it had a net loss of $71.63M on revenues of $13.49M in 2010. BrightSource is a developer of solar thermal energy technology.
