    Spock Raises $7M

Menlo Park-based Spock Networks said today that it has received $7M in a Series A investment. The firm, which is developing a search engine focused on people, said the round came from Clearstone Venture Partners and Opus Capital Ventures. Spock will use the funding to expand its hiring, for infrastructure, and product development. William Quigley of Clearstone, Ken Elefant of Opus Capital, and Siva Kumar of TheFind.com have joined the firm's board. Spock is headed by former Clearstone associate Jaideep Singh, and first showed up on Clearstone's portfolio in July of this year.
