PortAuthority Acquired By WebSense
San Diego-based Websense said today that it has agreed to acquired Palo Alto-based PortAuthority Technologies, in a deal worth $90M in cash. PortAuthority provides information leak prevention technology for the network security market. The firms have been working together via an OEM technology alliance since September. PortAuthority is venture backed by ALP Enterprises, CAP Ventures, Greylock Partners, Lexington Ventures, New Enterprise Associates, and Sequoia Capital. WebSense said that the acquisition is expected to close in January.
