Thursday, September 10, 2009 GainSpan Gets Funding From In-Q-TelLos Gatos-based GainSpan, a spinout of Intel, said today that it has scored a strategic investment from In-Q-Tel, the CIA's venture capital arm. Amount of the funding was not disclosed. According to GainSpan, the strategic investment and technology development agreement will go towards developing its low-power, Wi-Fi semiconductors. GainSpan said its Wi-Fi chip allows devices to run for up to ten years on a single, AA battery, targeted towards wireless sensor networks and other embedded applications. posted on Thursday, September 10, 2009 (Link to more information)
