Gigwalk Snags $10M More For Crowdsourcing Retail Intelligence

San Francisco-based Gigwalk, which is using mobile apps and an army of mobile users looking for an extra buck to help retailers monitor their stores--or the stores of their competitors--said this week that it has raised $10M in a funding round. Gigwalk said the funding was led by Nokia Growth Partners, and also included Randstad Innovation Fund, plus August Capital, Harrison Metal and SoftTech. Gigwalk's mobile apps let users find "gigs" nearby, to do things like find local pricing on items in store, "mystery shop" a store, and more. The company said the funds go towards developing its platform, expanding partnership, growth, and hiring. More information »
