Glassdoor.com Targets Salary Secrecy

Sausalito-based Glassdoor.com said today that it has launched a public beta of its site, which allows people to share information about salaries, bonuses, and reviews anonymously. The firm said it is taking on the taboo on talking about salaries and compensation in the workplace. Glassdoor.com's web site allows users to access employee review and salary details from specific employers; however, the site requires that users first contribute their own review or salary on positions they have held to access the service. The company said it currently has nearly 3,300 reviews and salary reports for more than 250 companies, primarily in Silicon Valley and New York.
