Google Docs Expands File Support
Mountain View-based Google said Tuesday morning that it is opening up the ability to upload all file types to the firm's Google Docs service, not just the document and spreadsheet formats formerly supported by the service. According to the firm, it will give the ability to upload all file types, with files as bit as 250MB in size to the service. Google said the move will allow users to use the service to store files, instead of emailing large documents such as graphics files, RAW photos, and ZIP archives. Google also said it will allow Google Apps Premier Edition users to use third party applications to sync those files to their desktop.
