Mountain View-based HipChat, the developer of instant messaging and chat software which is backed by the Founders Fund, is being acquired by San Francisco-based Atlassian, according to the companies. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Atlassian plans to incorporate HipChat into its own software. Atlassian is backed by Accel Partners.
