Wednesday, October 1, 2008 HP Buys LeftHand NetworksPalo Alto-based HP said Wednesday morning that it has acquired LeftHand Networks, a developer of iSCSI storage area network (SAN) technology, in a $360M cash deal. According to HP, it will make LeftHand a part of its HP StorageWorks division, part of the Technology Solutions Group at HP. LeftHand develops storage software used for storage virtualization and iSCSI data storage, used in enterprise data centers. LeftHand is based in Boulder, Colorado, and has 215 employees. LeftHand was venture backed by Boulder Ventures, EPIC Ventures, Garage Technology Ventures, Ironside Ventures, Panorama Capital, Portage Ventures, Sequel Venture Partners, Sprout Group, Valhalla Partners, Vista Ventures, and William Blair Capital Partners, and had raised over $45M in venture funding. posted on Wednesday, October 1, 2008
