Intel Capital Backs 3D Printing Marketplaces
Intel Capital, the venture investment arm of Intel Corp., has made an investment in two, 3D printing marketplace companies, the company announced Tuesday afternoon. Intel said it invested in Makexyz, which operates a marketplace to help people find a nearby, local 3D printer, and CGTrader, a startup offering up a marketplace of 3D models which can be converted into 3D printed designs and objects. Makexyz is based in Austin, Texas, and CGTrader is based in Lithuania. Financial terms of the investments were not announced.
