Sunnyvale-based Marinexplore, a developer of software used for analyzing and collaborating on ocean data and information, said this morning that it has scored a seed round of funding. Size of the round was not announced. The round was led by Intertrust Technologies Corporation, and also included such investors as Frederik Astrup, Lars Erik Baustd, Marek Kiisa (Astrec Invest), and Ivar Siimar. The firm--which has major operations in Estonia--aggregates and visualizes data from 24,000 ocean sensors. The firm is led by Rainer Sternfeld.
