Matterport Beams In $5.6M For 3D Scanning Tools

Matterport, a Mountain View-based developer of 3D scanning technology which takes and scans, in detail, interior spaces into 3D data, has raised $5.6M in a Series A funding round. The firm said the funding came from Lux Capital, along with Felicis Ventures, Red Swan Ventures, Greylock Partners, Qualcomm Ventures and angels. Matterport's 3D camera accurately captures and allows users to browse interior spaces in great detail on their computer. The new funding comes on top of $1.6M in seed financing the firm received in 2012. The company is one of the firms out of Y Combinator. More information »
