Mixercast Launches Media Network, Gets Funding

San Mateo-based MixerCast has emerged from stealth mode, disclosing in a launch Tuesday that the firm has received first round funding from Comventures. MixerCast said that it will provide Web 2.0 technology that will allow users to combine professionally-produced videos, music and images with their own content. MixerCast is headed by ex-Yahoo exec Jennifer Cooper. The San Francisco Chronicle reports the investment from Comventures was worth $2.6M. MixerCast also maintains offices in Pune, India.
