Amyris Raises $20M From Khosla
Emeryville-based Amyris Biotechnologies, a company which is using synthetic biology for pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and biofuels, said this morning that it has scored $20M in a Series A round of funding from Khosla Ventures and others. Khosla Ventures was joined by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and Texas Pacific Group Ventures (TPG) in the deal. As part of the funding, Damir Kaul of Khosla, John Doerr of Kleiner, and Geoff Duyk of TPG have joined the firm's board.
