Milpitas-based LSI Logic Corporation said today that it is in a definitive agreement to acquired Fremont, California-based SiliconStor. LSI said it will pay $55M in cash for the company. SiliconStor develops storage technology focused on the serial ATA (SATA) and serial attached SCSI (SAS) storage protocols, and employs approximately 30. The acquisition is expected to close in Q1 of this year. SiliconStor is venture backed by VSP Capital and APV Technology Partners.
