Nuance Acquires BeVocal For $140M
Nuance Communications said today that it has acquired Mountain View-based BeVocal, in a deal worth approximately $140M. The deal includes 8.3M shares of Nuance common stock plus $15M in cash. The acquisition is expected to close before March. BeVocal is venture backed by Mayfield, Technology Crossover Ventures, ArrowPath Venture Capital and U.S. Venture Partners, among others. BeVocal is a provider of self-service voice, web, and mobile applications for customer service.
