Sunnyvale-based Yahoo! and a consortium of twelve newspaper companies said today they are in a definitive agreement to use Yahoo's advertising network. The deal calls for Yahoo! to be the exclusive paid search partner for The McClatchy Company along with a number of other firms, expanding the number of newspapers covered by the ad deal to 265 newspapers across 44 states. Other new members of the advertising consortium include Calkins Media, Media General, Morris Communications Company, and Paddock Publications.
