PlayPhone Garners $18.75M
San Jose-based PlayPhone has landed $18.75M in a Series C round, the company said Thursday. The round was led by Scale Venture Partners, and also includes existing investors Cardinal Venture Partners and Menlo ventures. PlayPhone is a developer of mobile media and entertainment, including ringtones, wireless games, and video. According to PlayPhone the round will go towards expansion into additional international markets. Sharon Wienbar of Scale has joined the firm's board as part of the funding.
