Palo Alto-based venture capital firm Accel Partners said today that it has added Dick Williams as CEO-in-Residence. Accel said that williams has worked at three of the firm's portfolio companies, including Illustra Information Technology, Quokka Sports, and Wily Technology. Illustra was acquired by Informix in 1996, Wily Technology was acquired by Computer Associates last year, and Quokka Sports went public in 1999. According to Accel Williams will work with its team to identify and analyze new ventures, along with advising and assisting Accel portfolio companies.
