SV Life Sciences Names Venture Partner
San Francisco- and Boston-based venture firm SV Life Sciences said Thursday that it has named a new Venture Partner at the firm. The venture capital firm, which makes investments in biotechnology & pharmaceuticals, medical devices & instruments, and healthcare information technology and services, said that LaViolette is the former Chief Operating Officer of Boston Scientific. LaViolette will join SVLS at the firm's Boston offices in January. LaViolette is on the boards of TranS1 and Direct Flow Medical, and has previously been on the boards of Urologix, Percutaneous Valve Technologies and Advamed.
