Yahoo Links To TV Manufacturers
Sunnyvale-based Yahoo said late Wednesday at CES that it has inked agreements to a number of manufactures on a new TV "widget," which will allow consumers to use Yahoo via their TV set. According to Yahoo, the deals with Samsung, Sony, LG Electronics, and VIZIO will allow consumers to connect to Yahoo via Internet-connected television sets from those manufacturers. The firm said the widget comes from its Yahoo! Widget Engine effort, and will appear in products as early as spring of this year. Among content which will be available through TV will be Yahoo's news, weather, video, finance, and Flickr properties.
