Redwood City-based Obopay, a provider of mobile phone payment technology and services, said this week that it has linked its service with a prepaid MasterCard, which allows parents to send money to that card via mobile phone. According to Obopay, the new Obopay Family Prepaid MasterCard allows children at least 13 years old to purchase items from anywhere that accepts MasterCard debit cards. The new cards can be refilled using Obopay's mobile phone applications by parents.
