Mountain Viwe-based Loopt, which develops location-aware, social networking applications, said Wednesday that the firm has launched its service on Sprint's Instinct family of devices. Loopt, which has been offering its application on Spring since 2007, said that the new support adds such functionality as touch-screen controls for exploring maps, connection to Facebook, and view of friends' updates. Loopt is venture backed by Sequoia Capital and New Enterprise Associates.
