San Jose-based
Shocking Technologies, a developer of dielectric materials used for electrostatic discharged protection (ESD) on cell phones, semiconductors, LEDs, and other electronics, has raised $10M in a second round of funding. The funding was led by Vista Ventures, and also included ARCH Venture Partners, ATA Ventures, Balch Hill Partners, and undisclosed private investors. Simon Michael of Balch Hill joins the firm's board along with the funding. Shocking's nano-composites are used to prevent ESD damage to electronics.
