VMware Snags Zimbra From Yahoo
Palo Alto-based VMware and Sunnyvale-based Yahoo confirmed today that the VMware has acquired Zimbra from Yahoo. Financial terms of the sale were not disclosed. Zimbra is a provider of open source email and collaboration software. VMware said it will purchase all Zimbra technology and intellectual property, with Yahoo having the right to continue to use Zimbra's technology in its services, including Yahoo! Mail and Yahoo! Calendar. Yahoo bought Zimbra for $350M in 2007.
