Google said Monday afternoon that it has added access to the firm's 3D, mapping application, Google Earth, via its online mapping application
Google Maps. Google Earth, which has been available since 2005, was previously only available through a downloadable Windows application. According to Google, the new features allow users to click on an "Earth" button to access all of Google Earth's 3D imagery. Google said it plans to continue to give Google Earth users access to the standalone application, its KML editing, and other features.
