Aloqa, a developer of location-based content software with offices in Palo Alto and Munich, Germany, has been acquired by
Motorola, Motorola said this morning. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Motorola said that Aloqa has joined its Motorola Mobility business, which Motorola is planning to spin off in the first quarter of 2011. Aloqa's software helps smart phone users find relevant web content, based on location, identity, and social relationships, including local event information, coupons and discounts, and more.
