San Jose-based software maker Adobe said Monday morning that it has acquired two companies, to bolster its software lineup. The firm said it has acquired Nitobi Software, the maker of the PhoneGap open source software for developing HTML5 mobile applications, and Typekit, which develops hosted, high quality fonts for use on websites. Nitobi Software is based in Vancouver; Typekit is based in San Francisco. Financial terms of the two buys were not disclosed.
