San Francisco-based
Location Labs, a developer of mobile and location-based security software, said Monday that it has acquired two companies,
Wirkle, and
Volly. Both firms develop mobil eproducts. Financial terms of the acquisitions were not disclosed. Werkle develops iPhone and Android mobile applications; Volly develops a group messaging service for families. Location Labs is venture backed by Draper Fisher Jurvetson, BlueRun Ventures, QUALCOMM Ventures, Intel Capital, and Mitsui Ventures. Location Labs develops Safety, a service to help parents keep track of the location of their children.
