eBay Buys German Payments Firm BillSAFE
San Jose-based eBay announced this morning that it has acquired BillSAFE, a German developer of payment technology. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. BillSAFE develops "purchase-on-invoice" technology, a popular form of payments in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and the Netherlands. eBay already held a minority stake in BillSAFE, which it acquired in October of 2010.
