Walmart Labs Buys Mobile Apps Developer Small Society

Walmart Labs
has acquired a developer of mobile applications based in Portland,
Small Society
, the two said today. Financial details of the buy were not disclosed. Small Society has developed apps for such customers as the Democratic National Committee and Starbucks. Walmart Labs said Small Society's team will work with its Silicon Valley offices, along with other developers in Portland that Walmart Labs acquired in April of 2011 through the acquisition of Set Direction.
