Lithium Technologies, which develops social marketing software for brands and businesses, announced today that it has raised $53.4M in a Series D round of funding. The round was led by New Enterprise Assocaites, and also included SAP Ventures, Benchmark Capital, DAG Ventures, Emergence Capital, Greenspring Associates, Shasta Ventures and Tenaya Capital. Pete Sonsini of NEA joins the company's board. Lithium said the funds will go towards sales and marketing. Lithium is headed by Rob Tarkoff.
