SuVolta, a developer of CMOS-based, lower power IC technology, announced today that it has raised $17.6M in a funding round. The funding came from Bright Capital, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, August Capital, New Enterprise Associates, Northgate Capital, DAG Ventures, as well as others. SuVolta's technology cuts power consumption in chips; the firm claims its technology cuts power consumption by 50 to 90 percent. SuVolta is headed by Bruce McWilliams.
