Flint Mobile Gains $3M For Mobile Payments
San Francisco-based Flint Mobile, a developer of a mobile payments app targeted at small businesses, has raised $3M in a Series A round, the firm said today. The firm, which is led by co-founder and CEO Greg Goldfarb, said the funding came from Storm Ventures and True Ventures. The company said the funding will go towards product development, hiring, and customer acquisition. Flint Mobile's mobile payment app scans a customer's credit card information into a phone's camera, which can be then used to pay for a transaction; the firm's service does not require any additional hardware to work. The company looks to be a direct competitor to Square.
