MosChip Buys Product Line From Alliacense

Santa Clara-based MosChip Semiconductor Technology Ltd., a provider of PCI, USB, and networking semiconductors, said this morning that it has purchased an exclusive license of technology for Alliacense, a licensing firm that is a unit of The TPL Group. MosChip said it has purchased rights to TruVNS, a system-on-a-chip product for the IEEE 1394 (FireWire) networking standard. The technology will go towards a new audio/video content processor from Moschip. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The buy includes a technical team headed by Mel Gable, located in California.
