    Nanosolar Raises $300M

San Jose-based utility-scale solar technology firm NanoSolar said today that the firm has raised $300M in a strategic equity financing. According to nanoSolar, the funding came from Riverstone Holdings, EDF Renewables, and AES Solar, the funding arms of AES Corporation, the Carlyle Group, EDF, and Energy Capital Partners. Other investors in the round included Lone Pine Capital, the Skoll Foundation, and Pierre Omidyar. Nanosolar said the funding closed in March, and brings the company's funding to just below half a billion dollars.
