    Veodia Finds $8.3M
    San Mateo-based Veodia said Monday that it has raised $8.3M in a Series A funding. The round came from Clearstone Venture Partners, the D.E. Shaw group, and angels led by Steven Berger. Veodia said the funding will go towards product development and hiring. Veodia develops h.264/MPEG-4, high quality video streaming software.

    Airship Ventures Floats In $8M For Tourist Blimp
    Moffett Field-based Airship Ventures said last week that it has raised $8M in a Series A preferred stock financing from six individuals. The angel funding was led by Esther Dyson. Airship Ventures said it is looking to bring Zeppelin airship operations to Moffett Field for sightseeing operations.     Revance Takes $8M In Third Round
    Mountain View-based Revance Therapeutics, which is developing biopharmaceuticals for the aesthetic medicine area, said Monday that it has raised an additional $8M In its Series C financing.     Trulia Launches Ad Network
    San Francisco-based Trulia said today that it has launched a real estate advertising network. The firm said its new vertical ad network will allow advertisers to reach approximately 10 million monthly unique visitors across its network of targeted real estate sites. Sites included in the network include Oodle, Homes & Land, and The Savvy Source, along with a number of other content publishers.     Powerset Unveils Wikipedia Search
    San Francisco-based search engine technology firm Powerset announced today that it has launched a new product focused on helping users search and discover information from Wikipedia. The beta of the service is the first time the firms' products have been available to the general public.     Coastcom Acquired By Canadian Firm
    Alameda-based CoastCom, a manufacturer of metro network products, has been acquired by a Canadian firm, Bayly Communications, Bayly said today. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. According to Bayly, Coastcom will remain in Alameda as Coastcom. Bayly Communications provides design and implementation services for the telecommunications market; Coastcom manufactures and supplies metro/access network products, including CWDM, ROADM, SONET/SDH and other telecommunications equipment.

    FireEye Gets $14.5M For Botnet Security
    Milpitas-based FireEye has raised $14.5M in a third round of funding, the company said this morning. The round was led by DAG Ventures, and also included Juniper Networks, JAFCO Ventures, SVB Capital, Norwest Venture Partners (NVP) and Sequoia Capital. FireEye is developing security software targeted at combating botnets--commandeered computers being used to send spam, hack into businesses, and for phishing and fraud.     Lightspeed Closes $800M Fund
    Menlo Park-based venture capital firm Lightspeed Venture Partners said today that it has closed LightSpeed Venture Partners VIII, an $800M venture capital fund. The new fund will focus on seed and early stage companies in the information technology and cleantech markets. According to Lightspeed, the new fund brings its total committed capital to over $2B. The firm said its initial target size was $675M for the fund.

    Multigig Raises $12.5M For Timing Chips
    Scotts Valley-based Multigig said today that it has raised $12.5M in a Series B funding round. The round came from CMEA Ventures, Sierra Ventures, and Hi-Tech Venture Capital. According to the firm, Faysal Sohail of CMEA, Ben Yu of Sierra, and Aurangzeb Khan have all joined the firm's board of directors.
