    Taleo Completes Vurv Buy
    Dublin, California-based Taleo Corporation said late Tuesday that it has compeleted its acquisition of Vurv Technology, Inc. The deal, which was originally announced in May, was worth $128.8M in cash and stock. Vurv was venture backed by QuestMark Partners and Tudor Ventures and based in Jacksonville, Florida. Taleo is a developer of software-as-a-service for talent management.

    Cisco Targets Russian Startups With New VC Fund
    San Jose-based Cisco said Wednesday that it has anchored the investment in a new venture capital fund, focused on Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States. Cisco said that it has invested in Almaz Capital Partners and its first fund, Almaz Capital Russia Fund I, L.P., which will focus on small and medium-sized companies in the technology, media, and telecommunications sectors in the region.     First Round Capital Adds Principals
    Venture capital firm First Round Capital has added two new principals to the firm's San Francisco office, the firm's managing partner, Josh Kopelman announced Tuesday on his blog. According to Kopelman, First Round has added Christine Herron and Kent Goldman to the office. Herron's experience includes a stint at Geocapital partners, and experience at a number of startups. Goldman joins the firm from Yahoo, where he was on the firm's Corporate Development team.

    Focus Enhancements Buys Wireless Audio IP
    Campbell-based Focus Enhancements said today that it has entered into an agreement to buy certain intellectual property rights for a wireless audio product chipset from AudioMojo, which is owned by Hallo Development Co. Focus Enhancements is a developer of ultrawideband wireless technology. AudioMojo's chipset is a prototype wireless audio product.     VMware Completes B-hive Networks Acquisition
    Palo Alto-based VMware said late Tuesday evening that it has completed its acquisition of B-hive Networks. VMware had said that it would acquire B-hive, a developer of application performance management software, on May 28th. Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed. VMware said that B-hive's R&D facility in Herzliya, Israel will become the core of a new development center in Israel.     Cypress Shops Silicon Light Machines to Japanese Firm
    Cypress Semiconductor Corp., a manufacturer of mixed-signal integrated circuits, announced Tuesday that it has sold its Silicon Light Machines subsidiary to Japanese semiconductor equipment supplier Dainippon Screen. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Silicon Light Machines, which Cypress acquired in August 2000, will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Dainippon Screen.
