    HourTown Gets $1M
    Palo Alto-based HourTown, an online scheduling and marketing firm focused on small businesses, said Tuesday that it has raised $1M in a funding round. The round came from Baseline Ventures, Hatch Ventures, and NBC Universal, along with un-named angel investors. HourTown said the funding will go to accelerate hiring and further develop the firm's product. HourTown was founded by Ryan Donahue

    DeviceVM Raises $15M
    San Jose-based DeviceVM said today that it has added $15M in a Series C funding round. The firm said the round was led by New Enterprise Associates. Other investors in the round included Storm Ventures, DFJ Dragon, and individuals Tim Draper and Larry Augustin. DeviceVM develops Splashtop, software which helps the computers boot in an "instant."     Glam Media Names Japan Head
    Online publisher Glam Media Inc. reported Tuesday that it has hired Yukihiro Yamamura as chief executive officer of its newly formed subsidiary, Glam Media Japan KK, the company's third international debut of the summer. Yamamura, who will double as vice president for the parent company, hails from Excite Japan, where he had served as CEO since 1999. Before that, Glam noted, he was CEO at DoubleClick Japan.     Teneros Bumps Skov to Chief Marketing Officer
    Teneros, publisher of a software platform that helps ensure continuity between Microsoft business applications, reported today that it has promoted Andrea Skov to chief marketing officer. Skov, who had served as vice president of marketing since joining the Mountain View, Calif.-based company in 2004, will report to Ben Petro, Teneros' president and chief executive officer.     Zuora Establishes Advisory Board
    Redwood City-based Zuora Inc. reported this morning that it has formed a board of advisors. The firm, which is developing a service to manage online subscriptions for software-as-a-service companies, said that the advisors include Elizabeth Tse, vice president of global billing, payments and collections for eBay; David Welsh, a partner with Adams Street Partners; Dan Halabe, a former partner with Accenture; and Michael Everett, vice president of finance for Cisco Systems.     Friendster Deploys OpenSocial Support
    San Francisco-based social networking site Friendster said late Monday that the firm has deployed the OpenSocial API on the firm's web site. According to Friendster, it has begun offering the OpenSocial API as part of its developer program, and will now allow individual developers and companies to add OpenSocial-based applications to its site.     ELASTRA Adds Cloud Computing Support
    San Francisco-based ELASTRA, a developer of software for configuring systems for the cloud computing market, said today that the firm has added support fro the Eucalyptus open source, cluster computing project. Elastra said that its Elastra Cloud Server now supports configuring, deploying, and managing application son Eucalyptus, which is used for creating "cloud computing" systems on Linux clusters.
