![]() Wednesday, August 20, 2008 Agami Shuts Down Sunnyvale-based Agami Systems, which was developing enterprise storage systems, has shut down, according to a report in the San Jose Mercury News. Agami was venture backed by Advanced Equities, Alta Partners, Apex Venture Partners, DAG Ventures, ITOCHU Corp., Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers, New Enterprise Associates, and TIF Ventures. The firm's stable of news includes condensed version of TechCrunch and other technology blog news, summarized in short briefs. posted on Wednesday, August 20, 2008(Full story) Autodesk Buys CAD Software Firm San Rafael-based Autodesk said this morning that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Elektro-CAE-Software GmbH , a developer of computer aided design (CAD) software. According to Autodesk, the deal calls for it to acquire substantially all of the assets of Elektro-CAE-Software GmbH from Mensch und Maschine Deutschland GmbH. The firm develops a CAD software packaged called ECSCAD. The product is used for creating schematics for electric controls systems. According to Google, the investments included $6.25M in AltaRock Energy, $4M in Potter Drilling, and a $489,521 grant to Southern Methodist University's Geothermal Laboratory for geothermal research. Trilliant said that the funding came from MissionPoint Capital Partners and Zouk Ventures, and will be used to accelerate the firm's growth and market expansion. The round was led by Burrill & Company. Other investors in the round included Ascension Health Ventures, National Healthcare Services, Artiman Ventures and ICCP Ventures. The round came from Foundation Capital. Canjopy said the funding will go towards expansion of its product for managing Health Savings Accounts (HSAs), Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) and Health Reimbursement Arrangements (HRAs).
