![]() Monday, January 5, 2009 Picasa Hits The Mac Google's photo organizing and editing software, Picasa, has finally hit the Mac, as Google said Monday that it has released Picasa for Mac ahead of MacWorld. Google--which acquired Picasa in 2004--said that all of the advanced sharing and sync features of the popular software are available to Mac OS X users. Google had previously allowed Mac users to upload their photos to Picasa Web Albums using an uploader and iPhoto plugin. The accounts included the Twitter account of Barack Obama, Rick Sanchez, Fox News, and others. According to Twitter, the hack was a result of an individual hacking into support tools used by Twitter's customer support team. The round came from Cisco Systems, along with prior investors Khosla Ventures, First Round Capital, Baseline Ventures, and Atomico. The firm said that it has promoted Emmett Cunningham to Partner and Scott Requadt as Transactional Partner. Mirics announced that it has raised $7M in funding, from Acacia Capital Partners, intel Capital, and Pond Venture Partners, on top of an earlier $12M Series B funding round. According to the letter, Jobs is suffering from a "hormone imbalance" which has been causing jobs to lose weight this year. Jobs said that the reason for the weight loss has been a "mystery to me and my doctors" until recently. According to Seagate, its new 1TB, Barracuda 7200.12 HD uses two disks to deliver its capacity, putting its areal density at 329 Gigabits per square inch. The new drive is targeted at desktop PC users and external storage.
