    Meru Boosts Funding To $87.5M
    Sunnyvale-based Meru Networks, a developer of enterprise wireless networking products, has raised the size of the firm's Series E funding round to $87.5M, according to a recent regulatory filing by the firm. According to the filing, the firm has now sold $87.5M out of a nearly $93M fundraising effort, which includes the $30M raised by the firm in April.     Mint Raises $14M
    Mountain View-based personal finance service Mint.com has raised $14M in a new equity round of funding, the firm said late Wednesday. The funding was first disclosed through a regulatory filing by the firm. According to Mint.com, the Series C round was led by DAG Ventures and included prior investors Benchmark Capital, Shasta Ventures, First Round Capital, and Sherpalo. The firm said the funding represented a "significant up round", and that it has now raised $31M.

    Google Adds Social Games
    Mountain View-based Google said Wednesday that it has added social games to the firm's personalized home page service, iGoogle, and has debuted 19 "social gadgets" which include Chess, Scrabble, and other multi-player interactive games. The firm said the new gadgets will allow users to share what they are doing with friends and others, through connections within this gagdget and through Google Contacts.     Pacific Biosciences Gets $68M
    Menlo Park-based Pacific Biosciences, a developer of DNA sequencing technology, reported Wednesday that it has raised $68M in funding. The funding included investments from Monsanto and the Wellcome Trust, as well as Sutter Hill Ventures and its prior investors. Prior investors in the company include Deerfield Management, Intel Capital , Morgan Stanley, Redmile Group, T.     Xora, Gearworks Merge, Gain $8.5M
    Mountain View-based Xora and Minnesota-based Gearworks, both firms which develop mobile business applications, said today they have merged. The two said that they will operate under Xora's name, focused on the location-based mobile business application network. Financial terms of the merger were not disclosed, however, the two firms' venture investors have invested an additional $8.5M in equity into the new company.     Zmanda Rolls Storage API
    Sunnyvale-based Zmanda, a provider of open source backup and recovery software, announced today that it has rolled out a new open API which will help in the development of applications to backing up data to the Internet. The firm said its ZCloud API which allows backup software vendors to connect into Internet-based, cloud storage like Amazon S3 and others.
