    Google's Blogger Links With Amazon Associates
    Amazon.com and Google are recruiting bloggers using Google's Blogger service to sell products on Amazon.com's site, through a deal the two announced Wednesday afternoon. According to the two, they have integrated the ability to include products from Amazon.com through the Blogger tool, allowing bloggers to earn up to 15 percent in referral fees from Amazon.     Smule Tunes Into $8M
    Palo Alto-based mobile music applications developer SonicMule said Wednesday that the firm has raised $8M in additional financing for the firm, in a venture round led by Shasta Ventures. SonicMule said that prior investors Bessemer Venture partners and Granite Ventures also participated in the funding. SonicMule is the developer of the I am T-Pain, Leaf Trombone, and Ocarina iPhone applications.

    Ellie Mae Buys Mortgage Compliance Software Firm
    Pleasanton-based Ellie Mae, a provider of software and services for the banking and mortgage industry, announced Wednesday that it has acquired Mavent, a developer of automated compliance products for the mortgage industry. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Ellie Mae said that Mavent's technology is used by Fannie Mae and over 100 lending institutions. Mavent is based in Irvine, California.

    Atheros Completes Intellon Buy
    Santa Clara-based Atheros said Tuesday evening that it has completed its acquisition of home networking technology firm Intellon. Atheros said it paid $113.6M in cash plus 5,039,561 of its stock for Intellon. The deal was originally announced in September. The deal was worth approximately $276M, based on Atheros trading Wednesday.

    Pandora: 40M Registered Users
    Oakland-based personalized Internet radio firm Pandora is reporting today that the firm now has over 40 million, registered users, as of early December. The firm said it has been adding 600,000 new registered users a week, about 300,000 of whom are mobile. The firm said about 10 million of its users are iPhone users. The company claims that it had 44% of all Internet radio listening hours, according to Ando and its own internal metrics.

    Afferent Pharmaceuticals Raises $23M
    Palo Alto-based Afferent Pharmaceuticals, a developer of chronic pain treatments, has raised $23M in a Series A financing round, the firm said today. The round was led by Third Rock Ventures and Pappas Ventures, and also included Domain Associates and New Leaf Venture Partners. Afferent is licensing Roche's P2X31 receptor program to Afferent as part of the deal.     kaChing Rings Up $7.5M
    Palo Alto-based kaChing, an online marketplace for financial information and investors, said today that it has raised $7.5M in its first institutional round. The round was led by DAG Ventures.     Zynga Raises Huge, $180M Round
    San Francisco-based social gaming firm Zynga said this morning that it has raised $180M in funding, from Russian firm Digital Sky Technologies (DST). Zynga said that DST will purchase $180M of its securities, providing liquidity for its employees and investors, as well as to fund the firm's growth.
