 Friday, March 5, 2010 Google Buys DocVerse Mountain View-based Google said Friday that it has acquired DocVerse, a a maker of Microsoft Office collaboration tools. Google did not say what it would be doing with DocVerse, but did say it would be suspending new signups to DocVerse's service until it's ready to share its plans. Current users of DocVerse will continue to have access to the service. The deal was reportedly worth $25M. posted on Friday, March 5, 2010(Full story) Google Open Sources reMail San Francisco-based reMail, the email search startup which was just acquired by Google in February, said Friday that it has decided to open source the code for the firm's product. reMail said that it has decided to make the reMail iPhone application--which is no longer available in the App Store--available via Google Code, under the Apache 2.0 License. reMail was backed by YCombinator. reMail's product team has moved on to Google's Gmail team. posted on Friday, March 5, 2010(Full story) Trimble Buys LET Systems Sunnyvale-based Trimble said Friday that it is acquiring LET Systems, an firm based in Cork, Ireland, developing incident and outage management systems for utilities. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Trimble said the move is part of its strategic utilities and smart grid initiative. LET's product is used by electric, gas, water and wastewater utilities. posted on Friday, March 5, 2010(Full story) Apple Sets iPad Launch For April 3rd, Pre-orders On March 12th Cupertino-based Apple said this morning that it has set a launch date for its new Apple iPad. According to Apple, the new device will be available in the U.S. on Saturday, April 3rd, for the Wi-Fi only version of the device. Pre-orders for the device will start on March 12th. Apple said it will also roll out the Wi-Fi plus 3G model later in April, as well as make the device available in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK.
